Our Videos

This video is a short introduction to our Heritage Pork facilities in Swithland which is also the location of Phoenix Barn.

This video explains the background to Charnwood Borough Council's enforcement on Phoenix Barn for its total demolition.
Phoenix Barn was built with permission by the Council and through their own maladministration and mistakes
they require the barn to be demolished. The Council thinks it is OK to give permission and once built to take it away.

In the autumn of 2009, we discovered a bat roost in the barn. Building Contractors have also seen bats flying inside the barn and are refusing to touch the barn.
We have been told that it is illegal to deliberately capture, injure or kill a bat, to intentionally or recklessly disturb a bat in its roost or deliberately disturb a group of bats or to damage or destroy a bat roosting place ( even if bats are not occupying the roost at the time ). We understand that such actions may lead to a prison sentence of up to six months and very heavy fines if convicted. For this reason, we have not demolished any part of the barn and dare not to.

In March 2010, the BBC visited our farm and interviewed Charles White. Charles made the BBC aware that Charnwood Borough Council had approved the barns construction.

Our Pak Choi, Choi Sum and Gai Lan vegetable production will commence in May 2010 and we will upload videos of this part of our venture later in 2010.
